About

What is the Exodus Alliance?

The Exodus Alliance is a group of multifaith organizations, faith leaders, and everyday people taking action for climate justice.

Throughout April of 2022, grassroots organizers from across North America organized Passover street seders in front of the banks and asset managers that fund fossil fuels. As the world’s largest investors in fossil fuels, we challenged the financial underpinnings of these Carbon Pharaohs and laid the groundwork for future prophetic action and organizing.

Who is part of the Exodus Alliance?

A program of The Shalom Center, Exodus Alliance is a coalition of 45+ Jewish organizations, individuals, and mutifaith allies from across the country and beyond, who came together to support the cause of a fossil free future.

How is Exodus Alliance connected to Sacred Season?

Exodus Alliance actions happened as a key Jewish expression of a global season of multifaith climate action called, “Sacred Season for Climate Justice,” organized by GreenFaith, The Shalom Center, and many others. From March 19-May 6, faith communities from across the world mobilized for a livable planet and just transition. Deeply rooted in the story of the ancient Israelite liberation from Pharaoh, Exodus Alliance is one species in the ecosystem of Sacred Season.

Although this round of actions may have finished, there is more work to do.
